I purchased this watch approximately three months ago. It’s exceeded my expectations in nearly every aspect which is why I could not be happier with my choice. Since this watch was so well designed, in my opinion, none of its features fall into the “con’s” category therefore my review’s categories are all positive.

1. Atomic clock sync: never once, during the night when positioned as instructed, has it failed to synchronize.

2. Analog hands and digits: at a glance, in bright light or low light, it takes me less than two seconds to read the current time. Reason why: the neon-like yellow hands practically glow in bright light and low light conditions.

3. LED function: exceptionally bright and therefore highly functional.

4. Band: very comfortable and stylish.

5. Glass casing: very robust and, as of now, mine is totally scratch free.

6. Chronograph and countdown timers: while backcountry skiing and alpine climbing, the chronograph feature allows me to easily keep track of (and view) ascent and descent durations.

7. Recessed buttons: exceptionally well-designed because they’re set to prevent accidental bumps yet they respond instantly once intentionally pressed.

8. Day and date display: initially, I thought the gray on black digital numbers would be too difficult to view in all but bright daylight. I was mistaken — the numbers are easily read under most light conditions.

9. In low or zero light conditions, while the LED adequately illuminates the hands and digits, it does not illuminate the two digital displays showing, for example, Day and Date.

10. Alarm notification: like all other watches I have owned, it is not loud enough to wake me from my slumber.

In summary, if I lost this watch within two years or so, as the best watch I’ve ever owned, I would certainly repurchase the exact same model.

The one major problem it has is that there is no LED light for night time viewing. Not to mention the timer is limited to something like 24 minutes. Not really sure how an aviator watch can only have a 24 min timer but hey! Finally I came upon the GW3500B-1A and what a great watch! It does everything I need, including a 1 hr countdown timer and a very nice LED light that illuminates the whole watch. Not only that it's solar powered so if you are outside at all your watch will stay charged and will stay charged for up to 6 months on a full charge. The only con I could find, that really isn't an issue, is that because of radio noise during the day you really can't set the watch utilizing the Atomic radio signal during the day. Once I tried to set it at night it worked flawlessly. The watch is setup to automatically do the set every night at 1:00 AM if you live on the western side of the US so there really is no need to do it yourself unless you're a little OCD like myself and want to set it when you first receive it. Anyway, I give the watch a big thumbs up and I'm glad I waited for the right watch.
